Carter Lake

Carter Lake is located in the foothills west of Loveland. It has 1,100 acres of water. Carter Lake is my least favorite lake to boat at so far in Colorado, mainly due to the lack of sandy beach areas. The only area we could find to beach the boat didn't have any sand, it was all rocks. The hiking trails were very nice.

  1. Three miles long and about a mile wide, is a dilapidated mass. Popular for fishing, sailing, camping, swimming, scuba diving, rock climbing and water skiing. It is open year round.
