What do I do?

What do you mothers do when your children are napping? My 5 yr old has been home from school for two days with a stomach flu. At 2:30 I look over to see both my boys passed out! WHAT? My two yr old never naps and my 5 yr old hasn't taken a nap in over 3 years. I guess these late nights they have been having took their toll on them. I am going to watch part of a movie I rented yesterday to pass some time since I don't know what to do with myself.

(haha yes Prestyn passed out playing office)

Moms Night Out

Last night was Colorado Playdates (a Cafemom group) MNO for January. We are a small but close group of moms who get together for playdates and mom night outs. Most of the moms in the group are moms who moved to Colorado from another state and we don't really know anyone so we all look forward to our get togethers. Last night we went bowling, well everyone but me bowled since I didn't want to bust my cut back open. I did get lost on the way and had to call Jessica, who thank god her and her husband knew what they were talking about and got me headed in the right direction, they have only lived here 5 month and I have lived here 3 years!

Jessica, Wemi, Me, Jessica
(I'm always talking)

(Wemi getting a Captain Morgan and Coke)
(Wemi and Me, once again talking)
(both the Jessica's bowling)

I had a great night, lots of laughing! It was just what I needed, it's been months since I've been out with the girls. There were 4 new girls who came and I can only remember two of their names, lets just say I was feeling good and not paying attention. I am definitely looking forward to the next MNO. I am pretty sure everyone who met me for the first or second time last night think I'm crazy, but what they don't know is that is how I am ALL the time! HEHEHEHE I'm a natural blond and I interrupt people so I don't forget what I was going to say and I am usually a few minutes late when it comes to noticing things, especially when someone got a strike and everyone is clapping and then a few minutes later I realize why they were clapping. Oh It never fails what group of women I am with, I am always the loudest and most open about my life. I giggle snorted for like the first time ever last night, lmao..

A group shot, from top left..

Not sure of her name or where she came from, Jenny, Jessica, Wemi, Lynette, Me

Paige, Jessica, Kristen and Not sure of the last two women

Hobby Lobby Inspiration

I haven't been up doing much today since I hurt my finger, so of course at 9:30 I get the crafting bug. I was browsing Hobby Lobby's Project Inspiration section and came across THIS. I already had all the items needed for the lanterns but couldn't use scissors because of the location of my wound, thankfully Tony was in a helpful mood and cut out all the lanterns. I did reopen my cut a few times during this project and after I finish this post I HAVE to go clean it and not use my hand the rest of the night. :( After seeing the lanterns on the site I knew I wanted to make some for Trenton's room, his walls are bare and boring and I am slowly decorating the house. Since I decided to start this project at 9:30pm when there aren't any craft stores open, I used the scrapbook paper on hand for my first try. I didn't have enough for an entire strand of Christmas lights. I used 6 different sheets of paper and got 4 lanterns from each sheet so that is 24 lanterns. AHH I just had an idea, DUH, you can use the Christmas light strands that are made for the small Christmas trees. I wonder if Walmart has any left!?! Surely I won't have to wait until Christmas time next yr! Now you know what I am doing tomorrow, other than boat buying and a moms night out. If I can find the shorter strands of lights I will make some for Prestyn's room and maybe some Valentines day ones and keep adding to Trentons since I spent an hour on the 24 I already made.

Don't pay any attention to the way they are hung, I did it by myself with one hand and that's not where I want them to go since obviously I need to hang his curtains back up.

OUCH!! (WARNING GRAPHIC)

I hope Tony buys me an electric can opener soon! I woke up this morning craving a green bean casserole, after breakfast I pulled out all the ingredients and started to open the cans. My stupid can opener wasn't working right and I ended up getting the can stuck in my thumb. Not sure how, it happened so fast. I pulled the can out of my thumb and immediately wrapped it in a paper towel (do not wrap a wound in a paper towel) and then called Tony and told him to come home now and take me to the hospital because I think I need stitches. Don't forget I do daycare at home so while I am bleeding EVERYWHERE, there are kids running around, needing a diaper change, puking because of the blood, getting bandages for me. The kids were all very sweet and understanding but there was no way I could take that many kids to the ER with me so I had to call parents and let them know I was on my way to the ER and they would need to arrange for someone to pick their children up within the next few minutes. I didn't end up needing stitches but I did need that liquid stitch stuff, I keep busting it open though every time I button my pants or bend my finger...... Ready to see a nasty picture? I was told a blog is boring if every post doesn't contain a photo. So here you go!

DIY Candy Dish

Wednesday nights Tony has domestic violence classes, long story! Wednesdays are my longest day of the week, they seem to drag on and on and on. For now on Wednesdays will be my craft evening. I am always inspired from all the crafts I see in blog land, especially the dollar store crafts! For the candy dish I made last night I used the two items on the left in the above picture. I always see everyone uses E600 glue for this project but since I didn't have any I went ahead and used my hot glue gun. The total cost for this project was only 2.00! I already had the glue and the candy. Oh and the glue seems to be holding up well!

I like the way it turned out. What do you think?

Paternity Results

I completely forgot to come back and post the paternity results of Kiara. My brother, Quintin is 99.9% the father of Kiara! We are all so excited for her to be part of our family, especially me! I got to keep her a few weekends ago. It was so nice having her around. Right after her mommy left her here I got my camera out and became a picture whore.

Kiara and her mommy are going to Louisiana this Saturday for a month to see Quintin. I am so upset that I won't be able to see her for an entire month, she will probably be rolling over by the time she gets back.

Job of a SAHM

Most of the time people think that us Stay At Home Moms (SAHM) just sit on our ass, pig out, watch tv all day long. Nothing makes me more furious! I have been a working mom, a work at home mom (WAHM) and a SAHM. They are all equally tough and all have their pros and cons. For people who think that a SAHM does nothing, they need a reality check and I give them a day with my two boys and my two daycare kids before they pull their hair out and run for their car screaming!

Custom Puzzles

Trenton and Prestyn both have birthdays coming up in February. During my search for presents on etsy, I came across these awesome custom puzzles.
